tombogo introduces utility vest and handbag made of recycled bubble wrap and PVC

continuing the exploration of upcycling bubble wrap packing to create innovative garments, design studio tombogo has launched the bubble wrap utility vest and bubble wrap handbag. the items come as a follow up to the highly coveted bubble wrap puffer jacket that is now sold out.

both frustrated and inspired by the excessive packing materials from non-stop amazon, fedex, and UPS deliveries, tombogo set out to create pieces that could reuse these otherwise wasted materials. the bubble wrap utility vest uses recycled bubble wrap and durable PVC to transform the familiar clothing silhouette, into an avant garde, eye-catching and sustainable piece. in addition, the vest features a variety of pockets for all organizational needs.

similar to the vest, the bubble wrap handbag is made out of recycled bubble wrap combined with  PVC. hand assembled at tombogo studios in california, the bag is equipped with a magnetic zipper for easy closure, and fabric handles for convenient carrying. each of the bags is made to be completely unique.

in an effort to launch an innovative product drop format for the streetwear concept in the new normal, on july 24 2020, tombogo will exclusively release one-of-one pieces created during the experimental development process of the bubble vest concept. these will be released on the depop app marketplace. at the same time, a limited edition run of the final design will drop on pre-order only the studio’s official website.

the bubble vest’s main public release will occur on monday july 27, 2020. aiming to expand access to his pieces, tommy bogo, designer and founder of the studio,  has offered the vest along with a few archive pieces for rental on the shared closet platform ‘the rotation’. with this drop, bogo is appealing to the utilitarian needs of today, while propelling his brand forward with sustainable, inventive, and futuristic designs.
