swarovski presented a spectacular stand conceived by japanese designer tokujin yoshioka on the occasion of baselworld 2013. re-imagining the austrian company’s crystal facet, ‘wings of sparkle’ implements a facade composed of 22, 856 precisely positioned LED lights that link together, forming crystal-like structures. to achieve such brilliant effects, the stand is entirely surrounded by a seven meter high arched wall made up of 253, 231 (60mm) reflectors with a mirrored surface. measuring over 155 meters in circumference, the installation draws great curvature and creates the dynamic space of lights – immersing visitors into a world of luminance.
