sao paulo-based tiago curioni is an architect, urban planner, and designer whose projects use various types of different materials, such as copper, steel, and wood, revealing their dynamic and restless character. his eco-friendly creative views upcycle and transform materials, collecting various elements and turning them into new forms, generating new life cycles. the ‘black sheep chair’ is yet another example that is conscious of the environment and the people who use it.

conceived under the concepts of ergonomics, tiago curioni has used two cylinders that are perfectly adapted to the contours of the human body and the curious shape allows people with different heights to seat with comfort. the lumbar support is an important feature which ensures the user to remain in a correct posture throughout the use. referencing the famous fashion brands that have used synthetic fur in their collections, the ‘black sheep chair’ does not use natural fur in their production. four major flanges of an old japanese machine were transformed into lateral locking screws structuring the chair, ensuring the mounting and dismounting of the workpiece to be quickly and effective.
