taiga’s tesla-inspired TS2 electric snowmobile goes 0-60 in 3 seconds

canadian startup taiga motors’ TS2 is the closest to a tesla any electric snowmobile on the market is right now. lightweight and super fast, it is capable of reaching 60mph (100 km) in just three seconds.

at 500 pounds the TS2 is on the lighter side of most electronic snowmobiles in the industry. it’s available both a single and two-seater model, and features a PMAC motor which gives you around 250 newton meters of torque.

a thermally controlled lithium-ion battery provides approximately 62 miles per charge and charging options are impressive too. with the optional DC fast charge to 80% in 20 minutes and standard onboard charger to 100% in 2 hours.

pre-orders can be placed on taiga’s website. there are four different options available, across a range of specs. prices start at $15,000 and delivery is anywhere between 12 and 18 months.
