the magic within: swatch's new timepiece debuts anti-magnetic materials

there is always something magical with swiss horology. this is literally the case with the latest watch design, ‘flymagic’, by swatch. it premiers their paramagnetic nivachron hairspring innovation which decreases the negative impact of the everyday environment’s magnetic fields on its mechanics.

made from a newly developed titanium-based alloy, the 100% swiss-built component reduces the magnetic detriment by a factor over 10. it also provides effective resistance against changes in temperature, as well as shock resistance. on the face of the swatch ‘flymagic’, the new balance spring, finely finished modules and skeletonized gear train are visible through the sapphire crystal glass and automatic movement’s transparent rotor.

swatch’s new timepiece is available in three models, each limited to only 500 pieces. the 45mm cases, available in either stainless steel or a PVD finish, are paired with one rubber and two high-end calfskin straps.
