Studio natural conceives a light for contemporary living

Practical and stylish, the Avro pendant lamp frees the contemporary home from constraints by discreetly hiding its own electric plug within its diffuser. Designed by Studio Natural for Martinelli Luce, the lighting fixture was born from reflection on new housing practices, making it easier to eat, work, or play from the same table.

Avro’s aluminum structure comes painted in three colors: orange, blue, and white, and suspends from the ceiling with its own source of energy. And so, whenever there is a need, users will no longer have to hunt for a plug on the walls but simply use the one located inside. The proximity of an electrical outlet can even be increased further by adding a multi-outlet, increasing ease for flexible, contemporary living.

Avro pendant lamp adapts to user’s needs

With this project, Studio Natural wanted not only to simplify working from home, but also to facilitate the use of devices that require electricity, transforming the dining table into a functional workshop at the service of the user’s creativity. The designers conceive the Avro pendant lamp with a lampshade in the shape of a spinning top, surmounting its vibrant aluminium structure on a 360 degree diffuser fitted with a power socket. With this system, the dimmable pendant lamp offers a system that adapts to your needs and frees the home and user from the constraints of wall sockets.

Further, with a multi-plug, the luminaire also allows you to plug in several electronic devices while the lamp continues to illuminate the space. Adaptable for comfort, the dimmer can be adjusted to provide the right amount of light needed for each different activity. The slightly downward-sloping diffuser is also reminiscent of the wings of the Avro RJ-70 aircraft, from which the lamp takes its name.
