new york-based industrial designer stephen burks of readymade projects‘ collaboration with swarovski entitled ‘inside out’ are chandeliers using crystals in a functional manner instead of decoration. the large basic primary shapes are lit from the inside with LEDs creating a prismatic effect of refracted light. this play on the traditional roles of crystal and chandeliers is a new direction for swarovski. presented for the first time at euroluce 2011 in milan, the whole series of the lighting centerpieces collection from swarovski was created from six different designers.
