the sostanza pencil combines two handcrafted elements to form a simple silhouette
the sostanza pencil is combined using only two pieces; a lightweight body and an external ring that slides up to lock the lead in place. handcrafted from natural wood, the elegant object is perfect for those who enjoy writing and sketching. the ergonomic design is made for life. once the graphite is consumed, the user just inserts a new one, and can then carry on drawing.
‘sostanza’ ebony
the product is made in italy on small scale production runs, using specialized woodturners from vicenza who work on the body, while goldsmith laboratories in valenza produce the accompanying silver rings. mahogany, eastern black walnut, ebony and pear trees are sourced from the world and crafted individually to make the frame of the pencil. ‘sostanza’ is currently seeking funding on kickstarter here.
