reconsidered and redesigned from the bottom up, the neko cat tree looks comprises a modernist architectural sculpture for a mere 1 million yen (that’s nearly €6,500 and $7,500!). the piece has been created by cat product company RINN who teamed up with japanese designer yoh komiyama.

komiyama and RINN‘s collaboration aimed to come up with an alternative to the traditional cat tree. the neko cat tree is made from circular poles of wood sourced from japan’s hida region, used to shape evenly spaced poles that encapsulate the tree, allowing light, as well as glimpses of the cat, to pass through. a base made from marble sourced from greece weighs the tree whilst fabrics from denmark and hemp rope from japan finish of the sculpture.
