ronan + erwan bouroullec subtly carve ‘uncino’ chair for mattiazzi
the gently carved wood seat pan and back rest of ronan + erwan bouroullec‘s ‘uncino’ for mattiazzi, subtly embrace their supporting steel rod structure; making joints which one generally wants to have concealed, apparent. presented at the 2014 salone del mobile, the lumber elements who are the protagonists of the design, hug the metal frame, resulting in delicate curves where the materials intersect. two different backrests are available for the task seating, depending on one’s ergonomic needs; while one can choose from either a four star swivel, and a three-legged sledge base.
