ronan and erwan bouroullec’s chains link endless bell-shaped lights

design miami /2016: ronan and erwan bouroullec present the ‘chains’ collection with galerie kreo, which showcases a continuation of forms that the brothers have been developing for many years. representing key aspects of their research, the lighting designs typify traits of modules, assembly and the relationship with the surrounding space. the work is composed from light chains made out of numerous links, which can be endlessly joined together to form falling drapes of bells.

ronan and erwan bouroullec’s ‘chains’ collection is available in perfect white plaster; anodized aluminum in azure blue, pale green or blond gold; or in glossy red ceramic. when boasting these options, the lighting design’s bell shapes become considerable in the light, glittering all over their curved surfaces. the red ceramic version highlights the collection’s organic elements, as the work can hang harmoniously even without light.
