in conjunction with art basel 2017, the historic milan pastry firm pasticceria opens its first pop-up store in the miami design district. located on the new paradise plaza, the pop-up recreates the original style and allure of the time-honoured pastry shop. a green marmorino wall, inspired by traditional elements of milanese interiors, provides the backdrop for an open-air setting featuring bouquet jacquard graphic art and a reproduction of the entrance and shop window of via monte napoleone 9 in milan.

from a modern interpretation of the fifties ice-cream carts – capturing pasticceria marchesi’s pastel tones – visitors enjoy the experience of a genuine italian ice cream while strolling around the streets of the miami design district or seated at the rose-coloured tables and chairs under a white awning. and beyond the festivities of design the pop-up promises to offer a taste of l’italia for two whole months.

meanwhile in milan…
pasticceria marchesi offers custom-made, decorated, artisan panettone and pandoro, a twist on the classic italian christmas cakes.

opened in september 2015, the via montenapoleone café was conceived as a project that reinterpreted, down to the slightest detail, the atmosphere and the allure of the original pasticceria marchesi. from the stone facade with gold foil logos to the pastel curtains, the marble top counter to the crystal show-windows, the velvet seats and the walls covered in silk jacquard with floral patterns… these historical features are alit with a new lighting system that glows through white ceiling beams.

the galleria vittorio emanuele shop features aqua green marble walls, green floral jacquard silk wallpaper, green velvet armchairs and sofas, nicely lit niches with clear crystal shelves, and cherry wood counters. it opened in september 2016 and has an independent access from the galleria and one from within the prada boutique.

pasticceria marchesi’s original landmark venue was founded in 1824. almost 200 years after the opening of the historic pastry shop in via santa maria alla porta, pasticceria marchesi, under the guidance of angelo marchesi’s grandson (also named angelo) and his family, still operates from the same address, with an unchanged passion for perfection. pasticceria marchesi has recently opened two new shops in milan, located in the exclusive settings of via monte napoleone 9 and galleria vittorio emanuele II. classic favourites are displayed alongside an irresistible selection of new offerings, from freshly prepared savoury dishes to sweet confections, all exquisitely presented and packaged to the brand’s exacting standards. in march 2014 prada acquired 80% of marchesi.
