wait. first off. let’s tip our hat to andrew p. collins and jalopnik for originally posting this gem of a vehicle. in his article, andrew drives home an important fact: the car community is going crazy for porsche’s right now. they’re pricey as hell — for more reasons than one.
amid this decade of transportation design changes — autonomous vehicles, uber, etc. — classic, well-made, re-designed, bespoke vehicles are becoming more and more desirable. the 996 porsche 911 safari? not so much. maybe it’s the headlights, maybe it’s the year, for unknown — perhaps obvious reasons — the 996 era 911s haven’t really up’d much in value.
then there’s this green monster: new crate replacement engine, 2’ suspension lift, cooper mud+snow tires, powder coated wheels, OEM 996 roof rack, axe and shovel mounts, fog lights, skid plate, mud flaps, foster exhaust mod, and, oh my, tartan plaid — yes, tartan-yellow-green-awesome plaid — seat inserts.
along with a hat tip to andrew p — designboom gives a warm, secondhand hat tip to the person andrew p. collins originally hat tipped: joel johnson.
