with forged carbon, the new starck biotech paris collection, two giants of the design industry – philippe starck and luxottica – unite before our very eyes. the exclusive eyewear is attuned to the human body in its ergonomics, mechanical inspiration as well as choice of natural materials.

‘technology is one of the greatest symptoms of human intelligence. even when we use the highest technologies, we are still working as craftsmen. this is my definition of honesty,’ states philippe starck, who created the eyewear in collaboration with luxottica. forged carbon, the new starck biotech paris collection, uses technology in a unique way.

embodying elegance and intelligence, the design focuses on using less materials and minimizing waste using science and high technology. the result is a minimal yet modern aesthetic.

it is made of fiber models and bio-acetate frames, which is a lightweight yet highly resistant material borrowed from the automotive, sport and aeronautics industries. the bio-based acetate is produced from 67% renewable resources to mimimize environmental impact.

inspired by the human shoulder, the glasses use the innovative, patented BIOLINK ® technology that offers 360° multidirectional freedom of moment. this mechanism ensures maximum comfort and flexibility to fit the user.
