presented during imm cologne 2016, ‘zantilam/zant’ is an armchair designed by spanish architect patricia urquiola for the italian company very wood. the pieces are made of a steam-bent ash wood structure, with an upholstered back and seat. their discreet presence is enhanced by a versatile feature that allows the chairs to be dressed according to the environment that hosts them. although similar in appereance, ‘zantilam’ and ‘zant’ are differ from each other due to one being completely covered, in contrast to the other that shows its structure and has an additional headrest.

composed of a single profile in solid, steam-curved wood, the frame of the chair is like a white canvas open to be intervened freely and creatively by applying various finishes. the back legs and backrest are embraced by the gentle ring of the arms that run around the plywood seat. both the back and the seat can be upholstered in fabric or leather, depending on the place is going to occupy.
