with oak being widely considered as a inseparable part of the wine production process, the material plays one of the main roles in forming the final results affecting color, taste, tannin profile and texture of the drink. developed by MEJD studio, the ‘oak carafe’ collection reflects on the process of cutting the lumber, exposing the underlying grain. while the outside cover is polished or coloured black, cuts show the contrast present as between wood and bark in the glass series.
