can-crushing artist creates shapeshifting ‘switchpen’

noah deledda, the artist who dents and scratches aluminum cans to create unique sculptures, has now designed an intricate shapeshifting pen. at first glance, the ‘switchpen’ appears like any other pen with a metallic body and a plastic cap. however, a tiny button on its side allows users to change its appearance completely, revealing an eye-catching design with a geometric crushed-can aesthetic.

transformed at a flick of a switch

having worked on numerous crushed can sculptures, noah deledda used his knowledge and experience to create the ‘switchpen’ collection. the retractable ballpoint pen adopts a sleek appearance with a shape-changing body made out of aluminum. a tiny switch makes the pen seamlessly transform between solid and crushed, changing its whole look.

one pen costs $8, while the 5-pack costs $38 and the 10-pack $72. you can buy your own ‘switchpen’ on crushmetric, here. crushmetric is a design/production platform co-founded by noah deledda (find more here) as a functional extension of his sculptural works.
