NIKE & virgil abloh reveal all 50 off-white x NIKE dunks

virgil abloh and NIKE began their fruitful collaboration in 2017, releasing not only shoes (this one celebrated the 2018 world cup) but also apparel, like this collection for serena williams’ US open comeback. following some teaser images and social media posts, the duo has released their biggest project to date: a 50-pack collection of NIKE dunk lows made in collaboration with off-white.

‘it was ©2017 I started drawing on those 10 NIKE shoes. in my mind they are not literal shoes, but are more like sculptures a full-on art object made in multiple editions, somewhat scarce,’ commented virgil abloh on an instagram post. ‘they exist in a space all their own. where the plot thickens on the design side is the portal to tell stories as vivid as a HOV triple entendre or a jeezy ad-lib…’

called the dear summer collection by abloh, users on social media have been referring to it as the 50. numbered from 01 to 50, the shoes showcase variations in lace, tongue, sock-liner, zip tie, lot number and lateral swoosh underlay colors.
