NERD's 3CSup is an ultra light + translucent paddling board for surfers

italy-based NERD studio brings forward a game-changing generation of super light and ultra-clear boards for stand up paddling, called 3CSup. both a high-tech anf eco-friendly design products, they offer a more sustainable approach, as opposed to the mass production of inflatable and foam core boards  that currently beset the global market, without loss of performance.

NERD has developed 3CSup with a cardboard core digitally designed through a set of algorithm that control shape, structural performance, internal ventilation, weight and material optimization. highly customizable, the team has set three basic schemes that start to configure the board in terms of performance and aesthetics. one of the advantages of this technology is the resulting lightness of the product, thanks to the core structure and careful lamination system that optimizes materials — giving balance and integrity to the overall shape.

finishing off the design is a clean cut cork edge used as reinforcements for the boards, which is digitally developed, easy to assembly and extremely light thanks to its profile thickness. this solution supports the critical parts of the boards for ideal balance and are quite smooth to the touch.

with its ultra light weight and innovative core structure, 3CSup minimizes the ecological footprint by using recycled materials to meet expectations of surfers and nature lovers worldwide. in the production process, as mentioned above, 3CSup boards adopt a lamination system that greatly reduces the use of materials. 

a next level experience with NERD 3CSup boards

‘3CSup’s system works like the blowhole of a whale!’, notes the team. to elaborate, they’ve installed a mechanism that uses a valve to get the air out, ventilate the core and at the same time guarantee water proof protection for the structural core. this technique is realized by a normal duck bill valve, a replaceable piece so as to avoid substituting everything as times goes by.
