symmetrick roof cargo box for terzo car carrier by nendo

symmetrically designed across all four sides, the new roof cargo box ‘symmetrick’ by japanese designer nendo was created for terzo, a japanese car carrier brand. the balanced volume evades the usual form of most storage devices that traditionally mould to the shape of the car, creating a sense of speed. the container is equally proportioned from front to back as well as left to right, embodying the slow lifestyle and approachability terzo represents, while still becoming one with the automobile. this dual symmetry allows for the carrier to be loaded with either end at the front, opening to the left or right side, increasing its functionality. the brand’s logo is embedded in a dot pattern on the underside of the cargo box. the textured material helps to take hold the weight, giving it added strength and also from certain angles, casts playful reflections onto the hood of the car below.
