led by designer oki sato, japanese studio nendo has designed a new collection for marsotto edizioni that contrasts a solid marble shape with a light tabletop which seems to float from the base. composed of two side tables and a dining table, the seesaw collection gives off a contradictory impression between the natural heaviness of the marble and the lightness of the design.

emitting lightness and poetry, the seesaw collection by nendo for marsotto edizioni — an italian brand specializing in marble furniture — achieves great simplicity through a ver simple gesture. to give the impression of weightlessness, the top of the base and the underside of the table are tapered. this becomes even more distinct as the side table uses the base’s weight to allow for the top to be asymmetrically offset.
