we are keen to take notice of certain objects, certain shapes, and certain patterns because of the associations we form with their appearances. this phenomenon can take precedent in previous life experiences, connecting us to past versions of ourselves. following this instinct, necktie design office has created the tea bag holder shirokuma’.

for both adults and children, the product turns the act of waiting for tea to steep into something delightful. as opposed to the typical draping of the string over the edge of cup, a ceramic polar bear holds the bag in place as it goes fishing within the container below.
