‘modern table’ by osko + deichmann for ligne roset is presented at imm cologne, january, 18-24, 2016. the table is inspired by experimental residential buildings from the late ’40s till the mid ’60s in the united states. osko + deichmann have applied the idea of economic, modular architecture to a dining table, referencing pierre koening’s house no.21 as an influence for the design. the incredible lightness and transparency of these designs is often achieved by a post beam construction, held together by walls of glass that gracefully carry the roof. in the spirit of these great buildings, this piece of furniture expresses the honest aesthetics of modernism by placing the tabletop on a wooden frame, inspired by a steel beam construction.
the table comes in natural oak or black stained ash. it can be ordered in 10 cm increments from 160cm up to 300cm.
