the essence of the missoni home 2010 collection is seen in the integration of floral patterns throughout the new furniture pieces. bouquets in a variegated mix of daisies, freesias, anemones and forget-me-nots decorate the beds and drapes. blown-up graphical elements of cut-out, duplicated and magnified blooms highlight the curtains, outdoor furnishing, indoor sofas, scatter rugs and towels.

however, the boldness of the rich floral designs are subdued when intertwined with modern clan motifs. tartans are magnified and made out of focus. meanwhile, the polychrome macro pixels are recomposed in relief on rugs or overlayed in a multi-coloured explosions on throws. amongst the vibrant home collection, a range of plain-coloured articles and modules also takes the stage.

‘to me the home range is not just a licence but the missoni style for the home, which has its roots in the missoni tradition. I’m still exactly the same rosita who has simply shifted her love of fashion to focus on design and wants to imbue the home with the same values. now, more than ever, I cherish the emotions that spring from unspoilt surroundings. spontaneity and nature give me great inspiration and should be protected. the use of natural materials for even the most sophisticated weaves intrigues me. my ‘home’ is dominated by the most basic fibre, cotton. linen, too, is a constant presence’ – rosita missoni
