during milan design week 2015, marni has opened and transformed their showroom into a fruit market bursting with color and vibrancy whilst showcasing their unique pieces of furniture in a setting that draws influence from the bustling markets in bogotá, colombia.

the creatives at the italian fashion house have translated the characteristics of their brand into a collection of limited edition woven furniture, tableware and sculptural fruit-shaped centerpieces – all handmade in colombia. the product arrangement has been carefully curated, with the distinct shopping bags greeting visitors as they enter and stools of various shapes, hues and patterns completing the collection. the objects are presented on long, overlapping, wooden tables weaving through the vast space-seamlessly connecting the inside and outside.

accentuated by the bold colors and the woven forms, exotic fruits have been brought to the exhibit for tasting and viewing– linking to the theme of the upcoming expo milano. fresh pomegranates, guanabanas and zapotes can be found encased within the metal fruit cages or seen artfully placed in a fruit stall setting and at the end, the sale proceeds from the products will be donated to anayibe ricon’s workshop. the exhibition gives the chance for visitors to be transported into marni’s tropical world, given a taster visually, and literally, of their take on the dynamic south american country.
