for the maori yacht, designer marco ciampa built on his 2017 model maori yacht 54ft , and built on its horizontal aesthetic to make the design even more sophisticated. based on dynamic lines, a wide and welcoming stern and the attention to detail, the maori yacht’s sleek design exposes its intricate craft and aesthetic updates from the previous model.
the designer made the maori yacht‘s lines firm and organic at the same time, allowing the boat to be read at horizontal levels marked by changes in material and color. the roof starts at the bow’s extreme, where shaping the sofa, it draws the entire boat’s profile without interruption. the roof then suspends over the glass band that wraps the bulwark.
inspired by the automotive industry, the stern receives its slender geometry and organic design. climbing on board, past the large sundeck that hides the tender, lies the living area where three sofas organize the open, entertainment space. the bow, accessed safely by walking around, hosts a large sundeck and two comfortable sofas for relaxing or sunbathing.
the careful execution of finishes, details, material and color palettes, make the maori yacht a designer’s dream. the engaging outdoor spaces combined with the modern interiors result in a boat that still feels connected to the water, yet on a more sophisticated level.
