maison margiela F/W 2018 shows off some chunky deconstructed sneakers

2018 has seen some bold sneakers hitting the runway with recent hits such as sankuanz’s strap-on sneaker protector shoe, and balenciaga’s ‘power of dreams’ sock sneakers. now literally overshadowing them all, maison margiela has debuted some deconstructed and mega-sized chunky sneakers for its paris fall/winter 2018 runway show.

the new footwear collection includes the blue klein high-top and silver iridescent low-top sneakers, featuring a sculptural chunky sole unit, oversized padded tongues and a velcro strap over lacing system. the sneaker is reminiscent of the air jordan 6 and 7 with a silhouette echoing the vintage ’90s adidas EQTs.
