lukas heintschel completes 'neozoon' mobile suction cup lamp

‘neozoon – this lamp sucks!’ by lukas heintschel is a rechargeable, mobile lamp that can be attached to almost any surface within seconds. complete with a unique mounting feature, the portable lamp adds an interactive, fun, and playful touch to any space it is installed. after introducing the ‘neozoon suction cup lamp’ concept back in 2020, the designer is now planning on making the product available via a kickstarter campaign starting april 15, 2021.

lukas heintschel named the project ‘neozoon’ after the biological phrase describing animals venturing into new habitats. with this project, the designer rethinks how people use products in living spaces during the social distancing era. the lamp can be attached to walls, furniture, doors, ceilings, mirrors, or flowerpots thanks to its big suction cup, and easily removed without leaving residues, such as drills or glue.
neozoon can hold on for month

set on transparent surfaces, ‘neozoon’ takes form as a levitating element, providing a playful space for the users. apart from illuminating the living area, the designer seeks to add fun to the interior, making the surroundings more interactive and changeable.
neozoon looks best on glass surfaces. it almost seems to levitate

neozoon’s construction is lightweight yet robust, allowing it to be used in a variety of situations such as while traveling on a long train ride, at a spontaneous backyard party, or to create a cozy atmosphere in a camping van. the lamp can hold on for a month onto a smooth surface. it is smoothly dimmable, and the battery lasts up to 12 hours depending on the dimming level. meanwhile, it can be recharged in 3 hours without moving via the included extra-long USB-C cable.
