the living vehicle 2020 is a net-zero luxury apartment in an aluminum shell

santa barbara-based living vehicle has designed an off-the-grid camper for full-time living. the trailer sleeps up to 6 and intends to be a net-zero vehicle with no water or waste out. it runs on an automotive-grade lithium battery system and 200 percent more solar power than its previous model.

the updated living vehicle sports a redesigned shell made entirely from 100% aluminum. no wood was used in the construction of the structure and chassis, frame, interior and exterior skin, subfloor and all cabinets are fashioned from the material.

inside the 28-foot trailer features a combined dining and lounge area with an abundance of clever space solutions and amenities that give it the feel of a luxury studio apartment. firstly, the indoors can be extended with a fully integrated self-supporting deck that is rated for 1,500 pounds and is big enough to cook, lounge, or do yoga.

facing the deck, the kitchen features an all-electric solar refrigerator, dishwasher, pull-out microwave, and the option for a stainless steel dishwasher and a three-burner oven cooktop. there is also a removable cooking island that can be placed outside and an optional stainless steel BBQ.

the LV maximizes on natural light, blurring the distinction between interior and exterior space with oversized windows, skylights, and eight-foot sliding glass doors. in the bathroom, a tall walnut shower area measures 36″ x 36″, featuring an airy skylight to let the users bathe in natural light.

a master bedroom features a queen-size cool-touch 10-inch memory-foam mattress, skylight and a 70” 4k hd private home theatre. adjusting the dining table and rearranging the cushions reveals another queen-sized bed to sleep the other pair and a ‘euro loft’ option increases sleeping capacity to six.

as well as a widescreen samsung tv, the trailer is kitted out with products from apple and samsung to create a complete mobile audio and video experience. there are optional packages for increased wifi connectivity.

the living vehicle 2020 has a retail price of $199,000 and the company plans to produce only 25 of them, according to dwell. deliveries are scheduled for february and march 2020.
