Compact, foldable, and ergonomic, the Butterfly Cart by Leadoff Studio helps to transport goods around the Tri-state Area with ease and efficiency. With its metal A-frame form and hinge mechanism in its base, the entire device can be folded up flat to be carried by hand or stored discreetly in a van. Its modular pocket system fuses with the multiple handles integrated along the body to allow users comfort in moving the cart around with ease.

Further, its industrial form draws not only on the clean lines and ergonomics of medical carts to reflect the elevation of the high end art the cart is intended to transport, but also their robustness to withstand use in more rugged applications.

leadoff studio draws on the industrialism of medical carts

The Butterfly Cart was conceived for High Art, a New York City-based art handling company that specializes in moving expensive and often uniquely shaped items. As they realized that their typically used carts were taking up valuable space in their trucks, and were difficult to efficiently store during or after jobs, industrial design agency Leadoff Studio was called in to support their needs.

Their patented design solution centers on ease of transport and comfortable, durable use, with a focus on multifunctionality. The Butterfly Cart includes a compartment with a pegboard on one side and a flat table on the other when unfolded to extend its use beyond a traditional moving cart. This added workspace creates a sturdy writing surface or can be helpful when contracts need to be signed on the job. For ergonomic support and increasing ease of use, the frame is also integrated with hidden handles and slots for straps. Its simple design and use is intended to allow users of all levels of expertise to handle the Butterfly Cart. Its versatility in many situations can also be applicable for many professions.
