following a series of limited edition candles based on giorgio morandi’s work, sonia pedrazzini transforms the artist’s still life paintings into le morandine a collection of ceramic vases. the small domestic sculptures are meant to be arranged in infinite variations, offering users the chance to experiment with various compositions, just like the artist would do before putting them on a canvas.

the vases are realized in the painter’s typical color palette and finished with a matt, chalky appearance similar to that of the day-to-day objects the artist would use as models. aiming to put everyone in the morandi’s place by offering them the tools, pedrazzini notes, ‘you are now the artist, the director, the choreographer, the composer, the astronomer of this game of sidereal and yet domestic presences.’ the collection will be presented during milan design week at the amouage fragrance store, which the designer sees as a creative exchange between the objects and the store’s products.
