‘cumulus’ by lazerian
cumulus is a sculptural paper installation by lazerian that has been especially created for the london 100% design exhibition 2009 for the peta levi bursury. the piece is constructed entirely using folded paper modules, which are hand assembled in situ and glued together to create a ceiling-suspended lattice.
the design was based around geometric formations such as the molecular structure of crystalline materials, and architectural frameworks, which used a similar triangulation of multiple components in the creation of compound structures. a modular geometry was used, which would allow the piece to grow and be added to indefinitely.
