The Aeolian archipelago becomes the inspiration for Antonio Citterio‘s Eolias series designed for Kettal. Revealed during Milan Design Week 2023, the collection has the same origin but is made up of variations that lend different appearances and characters, just like the Sicilian Lipari islands of the region. From Panarea to Salina, the Eolias family of furniture can complete any outdoors or indoor setting with chairs, armchairs, and tables characterized by their aluminum, tubular structure.

Revealed for the first time during Milan Design Week 2023, Eolias by Spanish furniture brand Kettal was born with the aim of creating versatile products, that work in both outdoor and indoor environments. Thanks to the use of natural and synthetic materials such as aluminum and wicker, Antonio Citterio‘s collection reinforces the company‘s dedication towards sustainability. Inspired by the Aeolian archipelago, the variations adopt the names of each of the Sicilian islands depending on their personality: Lipari, Salina, and Panarea.

The outdoor collection is made up of teak tables, stackable armchairs, a club armchair and a lounge club armchair in outdoor wicker, as well as an outdoor rattan dining armchair. The indoor version includes the same products, plus an armchair with wheels and a club armchair. These products can furnish any indoors setting, from the living to the kitchen, with a dining chair and seats. Eolias also covers additional cushions, in leather and fabric, for the seat and backrest to elevate the comfort, but also complement the aluminum structure.

The collection’s folding table comes in 2,9m and 2,2m versions, and takes its name from the largest island of the region, the Lipari island. The table’s all-wood design with rounded edges is complemented by the stackable, aluminum chairs. Due to its position in the Tyrrhenian Sea, island Salina represents the heart of the archipelago, hence the Salina Eolias chairs becoming the axis of the collection. The version with outdoor rattan adopts the name of the smallest island, Panarea, the most loved and busiest place during an Italian summer.
