kawaii fans rejoice: a hello kitty bullet train launches in japan this summer

a special shinkansen is coming to japan this summer as west japan railway co. teams with kawaii superstar hello kitty. the pink ribbon-wrapped bullet train will run daily between shin-osaka station in the osaka prefecture and hakata in the fukuoka prefecture.

the special train will invite passengers in the playful world of hello kitty through exclusive design features on its first and second carriages. in the first carriage, visitors will able to purchase regional goods, learn about various local attractions and take pictures with a big hello kitty doll. the second carriage will include a ‘very pink’ interior with seating areas and surfaces decorated with the cute sanrio character. the train is set to make its debut on 30 june for a limited amount of time.
