joão xará pinches glass vessels to represent the action of force

portuguese student of ESAD.cr school joão xará visualizes the invisible concept of force through his design of glass vessels. the pre-blown glass shapes squeezed by clamps demonstrate the action of force in an intuitive and direct way through the materiality and given direction.

in this work, xará wants the observer to feel the tension and contact force pressuring the material — an interaction of two bodies one of which overpowers. more works by ESAD students you can find on the school’s website.
