jin kuramoto presents new brand ‘matsuso T‘ from ‘MEETEE‘, at imm cologne from january 18 – 24, 2016. all furniture products are made by japanese craftsmen at fuchu furniture — a manufacturing district of furniture in hiroshima, japan. using traditional techniques, ‘matsuso T’ expresses modern ideas and interpretations through furniture, that tailor towards a contemporary fashion. the collection consists of two chair designs labelled ‘mia’ and ‘tukki’, as well as a series of side tables called ‘liz’. 

‘mia’ is a stacking chair which is designed with compact protruding arm features. the wooden frame is made to match easily with other products in the collection, and can also be stored by hanging the chairs’ arms from the table top. the ‘tukki’ armchair is the second design in the collection, which was developed in collaboration with harri koskinen. similar to the ‘mia’ chair, the armchair can also be conveniently stacked.

‘liz’ is a family of side tables which are characterised by their asymmetric structure. instead of a fixed existing shape, kuramato has produced a series of products that challenge conventional designs. the shapes are both playful and irregular whilst acting as a formal and functional pieces of furniture.

‘matsuso t’ was produced by matsuso co.ltd and takahashi kogei co.ltd.
