‘bureau for the study of vivid blue every-colour inhabitations of the planet, the transformation of reality, and a multitude of happy endings’ by jerszy seymour, is a collection of lightweight high stools and tables — created for magis — which can be configured to create many different working or socialising situations. all of the furniture pieces from the conceptual series contain four legs, two of which protrude outwards at an angle, creating a unified family of objects.

the furniture can be easily slotted together making them practical for storage purposes, the tables for example can be easily fitted underneath each other. the collection is made from fully-recyclable standard welded aluminium sections with a hand splatter-painted mediatic surface that is meant to act as a limitless view to possible futures. the use of white dots against a stark black mimics the appearance of star clusters within the galaxy creating a large and expansive perspective. the furniture takes on a reflective yet lighthearted character, jerszy seymour states that the the collection ‘is meant as a place to reconsider our futures, discuss and strike forward making decisions, or to simply twiddle our thumbs, scribble and enjoy.’

the ‘bureau for the study of vivid blue every-colour inhabitations of the planet, the transformation of reality, and a multitude of happy endings’ for magis are on show at salone del mobile 2016 during milan design week 2016.
