prisma project was founded in 2016 by sergio nava, leader of the visual design program at istituto marangoni milano. its members come from different parts of the world, bringing unique backgrounds together with knowledge learnt during their studies. the group currently consists of gustavo martini (brazil), terence coton (france), matteo agati (italy), giulio masciocchi (italy), malika novi (russia), yuetong shi (china), maria camilla scalfi (italy), indue – chiara castagnola and martina ivaldi (italy), and mauricio salgado arenas (mexico).

as well as supporting different projects and different collaborations, istituto marangoni also helps to promote prisma project’s work to an international audience. their completed projects have been globally acclaimed with several receiving prestigious awards. their work has also been featured at many design exhibitions around the world, including collaborations with companies such as LG, cappellini, amazon, refin and orsoni fornace.

this was also the case at milan design week 2019, where the group and many of its individual members exhibited across the city. these included a series of poetic design pieces that created narrative mosaic tiles for orsoni fornace; ceramic lamps and furnishings objects for ceramica flaminia, which responded to emerging trends within the home environment; and a collaboration between ooniko and refin where prisma project was challenged to design a collection of glass table objects with the capability to form a connection between reflection and representation.
