iratzoki & lizaso designs piknik, a multifunctional picnic table featuring plancha grill

iratzoki & lizaso reimagines the traditional picnic table, integrating the plancha grill into ‘piknik’, a multifunctional unit. the simple object with two benches is made of metal and wood, allowing the cook to enjoy the company of friends and family while preparing the food.

‘when we were designing the piknik collection, we pondered the notion of fun and festivity when sitting around a table,’ explains the iratzoki & lizaso team. ‘a simple and practical way to combine cooking and eating. the traditional picnic table, the fun and festive place par excellence, guided our design process.’

the team brought together the plancha grill, parasol, bottle bin, housing for the gas cylinder, accessories and storage. created for forge adour, a pioneering manufacturer of domestic planchas, the project features different layouts ranging from a family-size table to larger designs for groups are created.
