industrial facility presented their ‘w162 dalston lamp’ series for swedish company wästberg at stockholm furniture and light fair 2016. the studio led by sam hecht and kim colin, draws upon lighting objects commonly found in workshops and warehouses in london. the design displays an honest practicality – durable and structurally simple. ‘dalston’ refines and updates these qualities with the latest energy efficient LED source, directing light downwards, as well as softly illuminating its outside shade. the materials and construction are equally simple and reliable. an anodised die-cast aluminium lamp holder functions as a heat-sink that dissipates any warmth generated, and accommodates different shades in both glass and metal. the ‘w162 dalston lamp’ is available in a series of colours ranging from a simple white to a warm orange hue.
