at IMM cologne 2018 and the spring 2018 edition of maison & objet, AC/AL studio designs a set of table and chairs for petite friture. called ‘dojo’, the collection not only takes it name from the martial arts’ gym, but also sources its curvilinear lines from the sport’s movement.

dojo, the result of two years of work, is characterised by a rigorous outline,said amadine chhor and aïssa logerot of AC/AL studio.in reference to the dojo, a place dedicated to the study of meditation and the learning of martial arts, this collection emerged from a search for essence, and harmoniously unites structural tensions and the fluidity of the lines.’

consisting of a chair, arm chair and dining table, the petite friture ‘dojo’ is characterized by its refined, elegant and fluid forms. with it, there is a great emphasis on the contrast between the soft wood and harsher texture of the steel, which is used for the chair backs and table legs.
