literally built by hand, ice castles are a collision of caves, frozen waterfalls and glaciers, designed into towering archways, caverns and tunnels for people to explore. more than 5,000 icicles are grown each day, harvested and sculpted by creator brent christiansen and a team of arctic artists. each of the four locations in utah, minnesota, new hampshire and vermont offer 20,000,000 pounds of ice to discover, where guests are encouraged to walk, squeeze, slide, and crawl through the vast, glacial wonderland. the frozen expanse is illuminated by night, when lights embedded deep within the ice alternate in hue to the rhythm of music.
