hand built and limited editions of ‘la torpille cycles’, are sustainably manufactured on the banks of lake annecy in france. the unique pieces are a recreation of bicycles from 1890 to 1930. originally ‘la bicyclette’ embodied simplicity and modernism – the new ‘the torpedo’ cycles reflect the same passion in a contemporary way. the high quality editions are constructed using traditional methods, with an uncompromising passion and pride in craftsmanship. made from wood and leather, with steel frames that are TIG welded, and brazed, the simple but durable materials are crafted using low energy techniques. currently the production of the rare objects does not exceed one hundred per year, hopefully the carefully designed items will soon be made as accessible as possible.
