arguably or at least reportedly one step ahead of everyone else, the gucci dog animoji marks the first time a major fashion brand has created a custom animoji. the emoji celebrates the chinese year of the dog and is modelled after creative director, alessandro michele’s own dogs.

 

the animoji, or emoji as most people will know them, takes inspiration from paintings of michele’s boston terriers, bosco and orso, by gucci collaborator unskilled worker. the emojis allow users to record video clips of the dogs that use the individual’s voice and expressions with apple’s facial recognition technology as featured on the iphone X.

 

the release is part of the fashion brand’s chinese new year campaign which also involves a special year of the dog-themed capsule collection. you can download gucci’s custom animojis via the app download here
