gabriele pezzini ideates the easy to transport moving stool
having originally conceived the ‘moving stool‘ for maxdesign in 2004, gabriele pezzini celebrates the 10th anniversary of his seating object with a renewed version, improving some of its previous functional aspects, and now available in four fresh colors. pezzini has acquired the production rights and is now manufacturing it directly through a website dedicated to the ‘moving stool‘.
the ‘moving stool’ can function as a side table when not being used as a seating object
with his work extending from the philosophy that defines the meta-design framework — offering economic, social and technical tools to fuel creative collaboration — pezzini specifically explores humans’ perceptive and emotional bond through his creative practice. the ‘moving stool’ is a product whose form is conditioned by the size of its seat, with its reduced height conditioning the posture of its user. its trunk-shaped cone has been implemented as a result of the high-knee position that often throws the torso off-balanced; thus its presence is a natural consequence of such conditions.

additionally, the stool was born to be a nomadic object, but it is rarely designed in a way that makes transport effortless. taking this into consideration, pezzini focused on this fundamental aspect, rendering a grip concept that is immediately recognizable and functionally effective so that in its entirety, the ‘moving stool’ formally represents the archetypal image of a bucket.
the portable seating design is made for indoor and outdoor conditions
available in four new colors: cloud white, moss green, sea blue and tulip orange, the ‘moving stool’ is designed for both indoor and outdoor use — from the garden to the terrace, to the workplace and other community contexts… always on the go — ‘a seat you can easily carry with you, wherever you want‘.
