funnelled ‘anton’ strainer bowl makes it easy to clean produce

the fruits and vegetables we consume come covered with pesticides, or worse yet, are pre-washed with gas or chemicals just so that they last longer on the supermarket shelves and in our fridges. to minimize and eliminate the residue that the substances leave on your fruits and vegetables requires more than just a quick rinse — you need to submerge the produce in water for a long period of time. to address this problem, designer ryann aoukar has developed ‘anton’, a combined strainer and funnel which updates these two kitchen essentials into a smart tool. the shape of the vessel and position of the funnel allow you to let your greens soak for a while (rather than occupying the sink, or having to hold the strainer under a running tap for an extended period of time), and when you’re ready to drain the water, simply lift and tilt to empty the bowl.

ryann aoukar is currently seeking funding for the ‘anton’ strainer bowl via kickstarter.
