swedish designers sofia lagerkvist, charlotte von der lancken and anna lindgrenhave of front have been given the designer of the year 2010 award by german magazine A&W (architektur & wohnen). in honour of the award an exhibition featuring the group’s work from their career is being held at the gerling-quartier / foyer, as part of the passagen program, during the imm cologne furniture fair 2010.
front selected london based julia lohmann for the A&W mentor prize for up-and-coming designers.

in the magic collection, design pieces are made to make other objects disappear. a lamp that levitates and a chest of drawers that separates and floats away. front wanted to create pieces with seemingly impossible characteristics that seem to defy the laws of nature.
