re-imagined frame chair by notion & mourne textiles at NYCxDESIGN 2015

since february, dublin-based studio notion has worked in close collaboration with also irish mourne textiles. coming off a successful exhibition in liminal during milan design week 2015, the ‘frame’ chair continues on to ‘wanted design’ at NYCxDESIGN. in the time between the two festivals, notion has altered the design, aiming to re-introduce the product in a less-serious, playful manner. 

textile explorations 

the short time-lapse has involved intensive experiments with color, quilting, upholstering, and object geometry. by altering their approach, the studio successfully changes how the work is both understood and perceived. the outcome of recent explorations is present at ‘wanted design’ in manhattan, NYC starting may 15th.
