as aesthetically unique as nature, florim’s new ceramic collection EARTHTECH/ reflects a more responsible future for architecture and interior design. the slab surfaces give a new form and resistance to one of the oldest building materials – earth. its unique manufacturing process reveals a highly tactile design rich with multi-faceted qualities seen in nature itself. its results are thanks to the manufacturer’s continuous consciousness to its overall impact on the environment, as exemplified with acquiring of the benefit corporation status in 2020.

the naming of florim’s EARTHTECH/ surfaces derive from ‘earth’ as a timeless material and as the planet to respect and protect; ‘tech’ is then synonymous for innovative and high performance. the ceramic slabs aim to combine both elements to sustainably build architecture for the future. they are aesthetically pleasing and technically quality, safe and hygienic by nature, and made using the highest sustainability standards.
thanks to advanced production technologies, florim’s expert makers create the slab surfaces by spontaneously mixing small fragments and pigments of earth in different shades. the composite materials appear with clusters of flakes and grains that form an original mélange effect that vitrifies during firing. the design transforms the raw material into a technical, colored-body ceramic product.
the results are large-scale slabs in a modern, minimalist style, where large or small clusters of flakes enthral at closer glance. its aesthetic expression remains throughout the thickness, even unalterable with deep abrasions. the design embraces architecture’s relationship with nature using neutral, easily combinable colors. a range of finishes then further ensure it fits applications indoor or out in public, commercial and residential projects.

the color options range from a scale of greys up to the boldest shades of bright yellow and red-orange. a spectrum of sizes also ensure the surfaces fit a variety of project types. this includes the large-scale florim magnum oversize slabs with a thickness of just 6 mm (in four modular sizes up to 120×280 cm) and traditional 10 and 20 mm thicknesses. four decorative elements are available as well, comprising three floral/plant-inspired and one geometric-inspired.
