Loungewear set designed by fashion brand and japanese artist

Jacquemus designs the First Class pajamas for Air France, while Lufthansa taps Japanese artist Sho Shibuya for its new Allegris First Class. The fashion season has flown up in the air with these sets of First Class sleepwear. For Air France, the fashion brand keeps the pajamas’ shades in sync with the airline’s and country’s flag colors. Then for Lufthasa, the Japanese artist brings over his artistic concept of time and gradient style of artwork. Both Air France and Lufthansa have revealed the pajamas, which are only given as loungewear sets to First Class flyers.

Sho SHibuya designs first class pajamas for Lufthansa

For the unveiling of Allegris First Class, Lufthansa collaborates with Sho Sibuya for its pajamas as well as homeware brand Tekla to realize the sleepwear. The Japanese artist says he draws his inspiration from one of his flights. Once, he takes a picture of the sky and clouds through his airplane window. That natural gradient color between white, azure, and dark blue now becomes a loungewear seat. For the artist, the white represents the clouds, while the deep blue at the top represents the sky and the ocean at the bottom. First Class flyers on selected flights can wear the pajamas. The airline says it’s not selling them anywhere.

Painting the sunrise is a part of Sho Shibuya’s life. He compares it to sleeping and eating. For him, sunrise means the beginning, a reminder that the surroundings are transient and unique. ‘Even if I paint the sunrise every day, the same image will never be created twice,’ he shares. The artist wants to capture and record these moving moments, hence the use of gradient and time as a concept in his artworks. So far, the artists paintings have been exhibited at the Triennale Milano and the MoMu – Fashion Museum in Antwerp, among others. Aside from Sho Sibuya, the fashion brand Jacquemus also produces pajamas for Air France and the company’s First Class flyers.

Jacquemus brings fashion to Air France’s First Class

Jacquemus designs the pajamas for Air France’s La Première flyers. Led by French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus himself, the loungewear is made of cotton in navy blue. The set features Air France’s historic winged seahorse emblem on the front. There’s even a label that reads ‘Le Pyjama’ to mark the series. The fashion brand adds a grosgrain ribbon embroidered with the Jacquemus logo on the back of the Air France pajamas.

The set of loungewear is available in four sizes to suit all guests. The top comes in two styles: a V-neck with a tailored fit or a round-neck with a regular fit. Each set comes with a pillowcase-shaped cotton poplin pouch, available in red or blue. These are the signature colors of the airline and the fashion brand. The pouch even features a surrealist trompe-l’œil design, with round-square buttons. It is reusable and serves as a keepsake from a night onboard. Presently, both the Lufthansa and Jacquemus pajamas are not available elsewhere.
